Alpe d'Huez Triathlon (France)
Swim in a glacial reservoir at 750 m (2,460 ft), bike three legendary Tour de France climbs including the 21 hairpins of Alpe d'Huez itself, and run a trail loop at altitude. The cycling triathlete's dream race. Over 3,000 m (9,800 ft) of climbing on the bike leg alone makes this one of the most demanding triathlon courses on earth. The long-distance format is a full iron-distance race at altitude.
