The Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route (112 miles, hut-to-hut) traverses the highest peaks of the Alps over 10-14 days. Glacier crossings, high passes above 3,000m, and sustained Alpine terrain demand strong fitness and mountain experience. 50% of guided Haute Route participants are over 50.
