High-Altitude Trek
High-altitude treks take you above 3,500m into thin-air mountain environments that demand acclimatisation, fitness, and mental resilience. Everest Base Camp (5,364m), Annapurna Circuit (5,416m Thorong La), Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Alta Via 2 in the Dolomites, Markha Valley in Ladakh, and the John Muir Trail (211 miles through the Sierra Nevada) are the classics. Guided groups are dominated by trekkers aged 50-65, and proper altitude preparation is the key to success.
