Outdoor Top-Rope / First Crag Day
Your first day on real rock — single-pitch top-rope routes at 5.7-5.9 — bridges the gap between plastic gym holds and the natural features of granite, sandstone, or limestone. Anchor setup, outdoor fall awareness, and reading natural rock texture are all new skills. Classic beginner crags: Rumney (New Hampshire), Red River Gorge (Kentucky), and Smith Rock (Oregon) all have excellent intro terrain.
