Using HSA or FSA funds
What are HSA/FSA funds? Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) let you pay for qualifying medical expenses with pre-tax dollars, reducing your out-of-pocket cost.
Does TheNextHill qualify? Under IRS Publication 502, exercise and fitness programs are not automatically qualified medical expenses. However, the Coached plan may qualify when a physician prescribes a structured exercise program to treat a diagnosed medical condition — such as obesity, heart disease, hypertension, or post-surgical rehabilitation. This typically requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from your doctor.
How to request reimbursement:
- Ask your physician for a Letter of Medical Necessity connecting a structured exercise program to your diagnosed condition
- Pay for your TheNextHill subscription with a personal card
- Submit your receipt and LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement
Disclaimer: TheNextHill does not provide tax or medical advice. HSA/FSA eligibility depends on your plan, your health situation, and your administrator's interpretation of IRS rules. Consult your HSA/FSA administrator and a qualified tax advisor to confirm eligibility before submitting a claim.
